​As stated before, the Fibonacci Sequence and the Golden Spiral are very prominent patterns in nature. The shape of the Extinct ammonite's shell is just one example of a pattern in nature that follows a variation of the Fibonacci Sequence. As can be seen in the photo to the left the ammonite's shell is very closely related to the shape of the Golden Spiral. The Golden Spiral is classified as a vartiation of the Fibonacci Sequence.



Some other patterns in nature that follow the Fibonacci Sequence and the Golden Spiral include the shapes of a snail's shell, a hurricane, and a spiral galaxy.
